Effective Monday, 12/18/17, the entrance to the courthouse is relocated to the East side of the property through Tamiami Park. Access this temporary entrance using the road off S.W. 117th Avenue between the batting cages and Coral Way. Signs have been posted along the way.

Students from Palmer Trinity School visit Oral Arguments
On November 13, 2018, students from Palmer Trinity School attended the Court's oral arguments session at Florida International University.
The panel, Judges Barbara Lagoa, Edwin A. Scales, III, and Norma S. Lindsey, met with the students after the oral arguments session.
Third DCA Panel meets with LL.M. Students of FIU College of Law
On October 16, 2018, after hearing oral arguments, Chief Judge Leslie B. Rothenberg and Judges Vance E. Salter and Norma S. Lindsey fielded questions from Antony Page, Dean of the College of Law at Florida International University, and a class of law students of the LL.M. Program that included lawyers from Brazil, Russia, India, Turkey, Poland, and the Dominican Republic. The conversation between judges and students continued during the lunch hosted by FIU.
Honorable Richard J. Suarez's Last Day on the Third DCA Bench
After thirteen years of judicial service on the Third DCA Bench, on October 10, 2018, Judge Richard J. Suarez presided over his last oral arguments with colleagues Judge Kevin Emas and Judge Ivan F. Fernandez.
Although Judge Richard Suarez heard his last oral arguments on October 10, 2018, he will remain an active member of the Court until his retirement on December 31, 2018.
ABOTA's program with the Third District Court of Appeal
ABOTA strives to educate and inspire students to have knowledge of and respect for the United States Constitution, our system of justice and the value of an independent judiciary. To promote interest in law and civics education, ABOTA provides students and teachers with court visits, presentations, roundtables and workshops, such as the current programs with the Third District Court of Appeal, James Otis Lecture presentation for high school students, and the Teachers Law School for public school teachers. Through these efforts, ABOTA aims to provide teachers and students with a better understanding and appreciation of the Seventh Amendment right to a civil jury trial.
